Looking for non-metallic punched, pressed and water-jet cut parts?
Bluemay Weston, manufactures custom products including washers, shims, gaskets, bottle cap liners, seals and other precision cut parts.

At Bluemay, there is always something particularly satisfying about seeing a component we manufacture become part of another British-made product. We recently received some very welcome feedback from Jonathan Cooper, Director of WoodRat Engineering Ltd, following delivery of a new batch of centre plate mouldings.
“The centre plate mouldings arrived and I've assembled the first 50, with another 300 to go. They're spot on, no issues at all.”
Simple feedback perhaps, but from a manufacturing perspective, “spot on, no issues at all” is exactly what you want to hear.
WoodRat Engineering, based in Northumberland, is the company behind the Original WoodRat Router System – a British-developed woodworking system designed to enable accurate and repeatable joinery.
As part of the production, Bluemay has manufactured the centre plate mouldings required by WoodRat Engineering.
The first 50 components from the latest batch have already been assembled successfully. For Bluemay, this is a great example of what custom plastic injection moulding is all about: producing a component accurately and consistently so that it arrives with the customer ready to become part of their finished product.
Jonathan went on to highlight another aspect of the project which is becoming increasingly important to many of the manufacturers we work with:
“Keeping the moulding in England matters a lot to us and to our customers, so it's something I'm happy to say publicly.”
We couldn't agree more.
Choosing a UK injection moulding partner can provide manufacturers with much more than simply a shorter distance between supplier and customer. Local manufacturing can make communication easier, reduce dependence upon lengthy international supply chains and provide much greater visibility and control over the manufacture of important components.
For businesses such as WoodRat Engineering, there is also genuine value in being able to tell their own customers that key components continue to be manufactured here in England.
Bluemay has been manufacturing plastic injection moulded components in the UK since 1973, working with businesses ranging from smaller specialist manufacturers through to major organisations operating in demanding industrial sectors.
Projects such as the WoodRat centre plate demonstrate that UK manufacturing isn't simply about extremely high-volume production.
A successful injection moulding partnership is just as valuable when a customer needs a reliable supply of specialist components for an established engineered product.
It means understanding what the customer requires, manufacturing consistently to the required specification and, ultimately, delivering components that can go straight into assembly without problems.
Or, as Jonathan put it rather more succinctly:
“They're spot on, no issues at all.”
We'll take that.
We would like to thank Jonathan and the team at WoodRat Engineering Ltd for their kind comments and for publicly recognising Bluemay's contribution to their British-manufactured product.
It is always rewarding to see our mouldings in their final application – and even more so when they are contributing to another specialist UK manufacturing business.
If your business is looking for a reliable UK plastic injection moulding company, whether for a new product, an existing component or to bring production back from an overseas supplier, Bluemay would be pleased to discuss your requirements.
