Bluemay was formed in 1973 by husband and wife team Bob and Val Butcher. From the beginning Bluemay has specialised in the production of nylon threaded rod and custom injection mouldings, earning worldwide renown for product quality.
Organic growth has been augmented by the purchase of the Nylon Screw and Nut Supply Co in 1981, the launch of the Bluemay Multicap division in 1987, and the start of Bluemay Weston Limited through the purchase of Weston Manufacturing Co in 1988.
In December 2007 Bluemay bought Rubber & Plastic Profiles Co., a business set up in 1967 specialising in rubber mouldings and extrusions.
Still family owned and with the next generation, including son-in-law Martin Norman, involved in the business, continuous investment in people has resulted in winning the National Small Business Efficiency Award (1986) and two National Training Awards (1987 and 1996). People are also the key to our business philosophy of high quality products with an unswerving commitment to customer service.
Our policy of investment is just as important when it comes to machinery and stock. The result of our ongoing investment in plant is an impressive suite of moulding machines, specialist threadwork equipment and computerised systems which monitor and control all aspects of the production process, giving us the flexibility to match each job to the appropriate machine at the correct time. We also maintain high stocks of not only standard parts but also many standard raw materials, invaluable for those customers with urgent orders, while other less common raw materials are available within hours from our approved suppliers.
Today Bluemay is a company servicing many thousands of "active" customers, not only in the UK but worldwide. We look forward to helping you with your requirements.
